It seems like transparent gadgets are making a comeback as Nothing earbuds, the Nothing Phone 1, and Beats Studio Buds Plus have all been released in the last few years.

Nothing isn’t the first company to popularize transparent consumer tech. This was a massive trend in the 1990s, as Nintendo offered transparent Game Boys and transparent N64 models. Apple also offered transparent Mac computers during this time.

Me? I love departures from the usual black, grey, and white designs. So I’m all about vibrant colors and/or transparent tech. But I can see why people would prefer more understated designs for their tech.
